POSITION SUMMARY
The Harvest Intern will assist with all aspects of winemaking during harvest under the direct supervision of the Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment prior and after use.
- Set up and operate equipment for crushing, pressing, and pumpovers.
- Read, interpret, and complete wine work orders accurately.
- Monitor fermentations by testing sugar and temperature daily.
- Sample vineyard blocks and run Brix, pH, total acidity, etc. on all juice lots.
- Make necessary additions and movements throughout fermentation.
- Steam, fill, and analyze barrels during pressing.


REQUIREMENTS
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times.
- The capability of standing for 8-12 hours per day.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time, but also sit at a workstation, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
