ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Wine Associate will focus on delivering sales, developing relationships with customers, and
contributing to the overall business operations.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about wine, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and has
an entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal associate is committed to providing outstanding customer service, is
eager to be part of a growing business, and enjoys sharing knowledge to get others excited about wine.
Responsibilities:
• Costumer Service:
o Welcome customers and assist them as they explore our store.
o Share wine expertise to provide detailed product information and personalized
recommendations.
o Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues with a friendly and professional attitude.
o Ensure and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
and relationship building.
o Follow up on online and phone orders, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any issues
that may arise.
o Proactively follow up with clients after orders to confirm satisfaction and reinforce an
elevated and personalized customer experience.
• Sales:
o Drive sales by engaging with customers, making suggestions, and sharing in-depth product
knowledge.
o Process transactions accurately (cash, credit, and debit) and ensure all client information is
collected and entered correctly.
o Demonstrate strong attention to detail by verifying products, pricing, and charges at
checkout to ensure accuracy.
• Merchandising & Inventory Management:
o Keep our shop neat and visually appealing.
o Restock shelves and replenish inventory.
o Maintain shop organization according to our pricing-based system, ensuring wines are
properly placed and easy to locate.
o Perform regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
o Stay informed about incoming orders and expected deliveries. Assist with receiving new
shipments, and ensure inventory is managed effectively.
o Maintain accurate and current wine listings on the website by adding new products and
updating information as inventory arrives.
• Wine Knowledge:
o Demonstrate a broad and comprehensive understanding of wine, with particular
knowledge of Italy, Spain, and France; knowledge of additional regions is a plus.
o Stay updated on the ‘wine world’, including product knowledge, pricing trends, competitor
offerings, and industry news.
o Educate customers about different wine varieties, pairing suggestions, and wine regions.
• Business Insight:
o Use your business sense to understand market trends and identify sales opportunities.
o Help develop and execute strategies to boost sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
o Assist in the wine buying process working closely with distributors and importers to
enhance product offerings and optimize inventory.
o Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and sales trends.
o Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Collaborations:
o Assist in planning and conducting wine tastings.
o Provide support with fulfillment and inventory operations as needed, including
receiving merchandise and preparing orders.
o Contribute to a collaborative team environment by supporting colleagues and
business operations as needed.
Schedule:
• Tuesday to Wednesday from 12 pm to 7 pm
• Thursday to Saturday from 12 pm to 8 pm
• Applicable holidays

ABOUT YOU:
• Self-starter with a desire to learn, assume responsibility, and grow with Vinonueva.
• Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with customers.
• Advanced knowledge of wine.
• Retail or wine industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable using standard business software, including Microsoft Office and web/email
platforms.
• Ability to carry cases of wine.
