Position Overview
We are seeking an independent, commission-only sales representative to grow distribution and drive sales within on-premise and hospitality accounts, including restaurants, bars, hotels, and event-driven venues.
This is an entrepreneurial role ideal for a motivated self-starter with an existing network in hospitality who wants to represent a brand aligned with where the industry is going.
Candidates must live in the California. Remote candidates will NOT be considered.
Key Responsibilities
-Identify, prospect, and open new on-premise accounts:
*Hotels and resorts
*Restaurants
*Bars
*Event venues and hospitality groups
-Deliver structured sales presentation demonstrating both wine and brand knowledge, leveraging our key differentiators
-Secure by-the-glass placements, menu features, and program integrations
-Conduct tastings, staff trainings, and product education
-Build and maintain strong relationships with:
*Beverage directors
*Sommeliers
*F&B managers
-Drive reorders and account growth through consistent follow-up
-Provide regular updates on sales performance, opportunities, and market feedback
-Communicate with distributor portfolio managers and sales representatives for account set-up and support as needed
-Attend and contribute to occasional internal sales team meetings
Compensation
-100% commission-based (1099)
-Uncapped earning potential
-Performance incentives tied to account growth and volume
Qualifications
-Prior experience in beverage alcohol sales, hospitality, or distribution required
-Existing relationships in the local market, on-premise accounts strongly preferred
-Proven ability to sell and close new business
-Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
-Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently
-Must be able to lift and carry product
-Ability to travel within market up to 80% of the time
-Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and excellent driving record
Ideal Candidate
-Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in wine or beverage sales
-Existing relationships in on-premise / hospitality accounts
-Comfortable working on commission with unlimited earning potential
-Highly organized and proactive in managing a territory
-WSET or similar wine certification(s) preferred
-Fluent in Spanish preferred
Schedule & Work Environment
-Flexible schedule based on account needs (could include evenings and weekends)
-Field-based role requiring regular travel within assigned territory
-Will report into Wander + Ivy sales lead, who will provide training, best practices, and support
