Job Description:

A to Z Wineworks, LLC is hiring a Cellar Associate l. The Cellar Associate is responsible for completing various cellar tasks while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and following all safety practices. The primary responsibility for this role is to assist in assigned aspects of wine production. This includes cleaning and sanitation; setting up and completing all types of movements such as racking, blending, making additions and pump-overs; barrel work including topping, filling and racking. During our harvest season, the Cellar Associate will assist in training seasonal staff.

Schedule: Cellar staff generally work four 10-hour shifts per week. During harvest, extended hours and additional days are required. This position is in Newberg, Oregon.

Job Responsibilities:

•  Perform all cellar operations assigned, including preparation and sanitation of equipment for grape processing, transfer of juice and wine during fermentation, and safe handling of chemicals & additives related to wine processing and sanitation.
•  Participate in all barrel related operations including barreling down, barrel racking, barrel storage, chemical additions, topping and other related duties.
•  Participate in the safe operation of winemaking-related equipment and the accurate execution of cellar work orders according to established quality-oriented procedures.
•  Work on Bottling line as assigned and pivot responsibilities to harvest duties during the harvest season.

Position Requirements:

•  Minimum of one full year of winery cellar work is required.
•  High School diploma or equivalent required. Degree in Enology, Fermentation, or a related field of science is a plus.
•  Curious with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
•  Available to work a flexible schedule, particularly during harvest season, including extended hours, overtime, night shifts, and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements:

•  Able to stand and move for up to 12 hours.
•  Proven ability to lift, bend, rotate, move, and carry 50 pounds over the course of a shift and on a repetitive basis.
•  Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl on a repetitive basis.
•  Able to climb and balance, including frequent climbing of stairs, ladders, and on high catwalks, while carrying supplies and equipment.
•  Physical conditions include exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather; contact with water or other liquids; and exposure to noise.
•  Some work is performed in confined space conditions.

Your Compensation:

$21 per hour.
