Job Description:

Red Newt Cellars, a premium winery in the heart of the Finger Lakes, is seeking a
Harvest Intern to join our production team for the 2025 harvest season. This is an
exciting opportunity to work alongside a passionate (and small) winemaking team in a
hands-on environment, producing world-class Rieslings, dry reds, other cool-climate
varieties. This is a great opportunity to deepen your winemaking knowledge, contribute
meaningfully to the harvest process, and work with a small, supportive, and skilled
team. While this position is seasonal, there is an opportunity for this to potentially
become a year-round position.

Requirements:
•    Minimum 1 year of experience (harvest-only experience is acceptable).
•    Must be reliable, motivated, and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings,
evenings, and weekends as needed.
•    Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying
conditions.
•    Valid driver’s license required

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Harvest Intern, you will assist with all aspects of harvest operations, including:
•    Grape processing, destemming, pressing
•    Fermentation monitoring: sampling, Brix/temperature readings
•    Fermentation management/cap management
•    Juice and wine transfers using pumps and hoses
•    Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, equipment, and work areas
•    Racking and filtration
•    Barrel work and general cellar maintenance
•    Some vineyard work as needed

We encourage people looking for part-time harvest work to apply, as well. Housing is
not provided, but we can assist in the search.
