Job Description:

Aperture Cellars is seeking a skilled, hands-on Cellar III team member to support daily winery operations and help uphold high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. This role combines advanced cellar work with day-to-day leadership in training, task coordination, and cellar organization. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and committed to excellent winemaking practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform daily cellar operations including sanitation, barrel work, racking, topping, wine movements, blending support, filtration, and tank transfers.

- Execute cellar work orders accurately and help ensure tasks assigned to the cellar crew are completed correctly and on time.

- Lead or support key projects such as cellar sanitation, topping programs, sulfur dioxide additions, racking teams, and general cellar organization.

- Assist with bottling preparation and operations, including setup support, packaging material staging, and wine preparation activities.

- Support harvest operations including crush activities, grape intake support, press work, and shift coordination.

- Lead a harvest shift with general oversight of interns.

- Maintain organized barrel rooms, support inventory accuracy, and help monitor cellar equipment and facility needs.

- Promote a safe, team-oriented environment by following standard operating procedures and helping train others on safe cellar practices.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

- Must be at least 21 years of age.

- 2-3 years of full-time cellar experience in a winery or similar production environment.

- Forklift experience required; must be able to complete company certification requirements.

- Strong knowledge of cellar safety, sanitation, wine movements, barrel work, and standard winemaking protocols.

- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar software; experience with winemaking software is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule and Physical Requirements:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that typically requires 40+ hours per week. The schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays during harvest, bottling, or other peak production periods. The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, climbing, repetitive motion, and work in indoor and outdoor cellar environments, including exposure to variable temperatures, noise, moisture, chemicals, and standard personal protective equipment.
