Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity to gain immersive harvest experience at a world-class winery, supporting every stage of fermentation and laboratory operations while working closely with an accomplished winemaking team dedicated to excellence.

Enologist Mission:
The Harvest Enologist will assist in the coordination of all laboratory operations, supporting the Domaine Serene winemaking team by ensuring grape harvest and fermentation processes are conducted efficiently and with the highest quality standards. Primary role is to contribute to the execution of grape maturity and fermentation sampling needs, conducting lab analysis, updating data management systems and making fermentation additions. Other cellar work will be assigned as needed.

Core Position Expectations:
•  Support all lab related operations during harvest, including grape maturity analysis, fermentation kinetics and ML/RS monitoring.
•  Perform in-house laboratory analysis and organize samples for outside lab testing.
•  Manage the calibration, standardization, and accuracy of all laboratory equipment.
•  Maintain accurate record keeping of all laboratory results and data entry into Vintrace management systems and internal documents.
•  Work closely with winemaking team to ensure that necessary sampling and analysis is being performed accurately.
•  Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab equipment and materials.
•  Assist with basic cellar operations as needed with the processing of harvested grapes, cap management, inoculations and additions.
•  Assist with the record keeping of the dry good inventory.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
•  An understanding of harvest lab operations and willingness to learn.
•  Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet deadlines on short notice.
•  Work independently with minimal supervision and troubleshoot problems.
•  Capable to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work on one’s feet for 10+ hours a day.
•  Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
•  Perform all job functions in strict adherence to company health and safety protocols, and in accordance with quality control standards.
•  The ability to work long, variable hours during harvest.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Viticulture & Enology or other relevant coursework, completed degree preferred.
•  Minimum 1+ years or 2 harvests in wine or beverage production experience is required.
•  Experience conducting and assessing the accuracy of various wine chemistry analyses.
•  Proficient in MS Office Suite with Vintrace experience preferred.
•  Experience with cellar operations a plus.

This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
