Harvest Winemaking Intern

Ruby Vineyard

Hillsboro, OR

Apply

Job Description:

Ruby Vineyard is looking for a hardworking Winemaking Intern for the 2026 Harvest Season. We are a small estate winery producing premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and aromatic whites. We produce our wines onsite at our 9 acre vineyard. Our vines were planted in the 1970's and are Organically farmed. We are looking for one intern to join our team this harvest and support us in all aspects of winemaking and viticulture.

Responsibilities

Interns are responsible for the physical winemaking work throughout harvest. Punching down red fermentations, operating the press, operating pumps and all cleaning. They will also assist in vineyard sampling, picking and sorting. This job is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. Ruby is small, and hires one intern each year. This gives them the opportunity to learn every part of the process and work side by side with the Winemaker and Vineyard Manager.

Qualifications

Harvest, farm, or kitchen experience preferred. A positive attitude and exceptional work ethic are required. You must be comfortable standing and performing physical work all day. You must be prepared to work in an environment that is wet and often very hot or cold.

Daily harvest hours typically vary from 8-11 hours, but can be up to 14 during the busiest days. Significant overtime hours are required during the busiest weeks. Ruby does not offer housing, but will provide lunches on the busiest days.
