Position Overview:
Table 301 is seeking a talented and forward-thinking Wine Director / Sommelier to develop and lead a refined, globally inspired wine program. This role is designed for a hospitality professional with a deep understanding of international wines, a sharp business mindset, and a passion for delivering elevated guest experiences. The ideal candidate will balance creativity with operational discipline, building a wine list that enhances fine dining vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Curate and maintain a balanced, global wine list that reflects both classic regions and emerging producers
Manage all wine purchasing, including vendor relationships and negotiations
Oversee receiving, organization, and proper storage of all wine inventory
Maintain cost of goods (COGS) within established budget parameters
Lead ongoing staff training focused on wine knowledge, service standards, and sales techniques
Actively engage in floor service, selling and presenting wines during dinner service five nights per week
Collaborate with the culinary team to create thoughtful pairings and tasting menu enhancements
Continuously evaluate and evolve the wine program to align with trends and guest expectations
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sommelier or Wine Director in a fine dining environment
Strong knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and producers
Demonstrated experience with purchasing, inventory management, and budget control
Exceptional service skills and a strong presence on the dining room floor
Ability to teach, mentor, and inspire a service team
Certification (CMS, WSET, or equivalent) preferred
