Account Executive

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•  Plan time and activities to ensure achievement of company and supplier established goals and sales objectives within assigned accounts.
•  Work in conjunction with Director of Chain Retail Sales, Portfolio and Brand Managers, and Chain Retail Sales Consultants to ensure effective execution of distribution, POS, promotions, pricing, programming.
•  Develop monthly, weekly and daily written pre-plans for execution.
•  Be involved in activities with and around their accounts (IE: committees, functions, charity events, etc.)
•  Develop an effective partnership with accounts.
•  Be the primary contact for the ultimate decision maker in assigned accounts.
•  Communicate issues, opportunities and market intelligence with appropriate management through written, electronic and verbal means.
•  Maintain up-to-date, accurate territory and account records.
•  Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations in all locations. Ensure satisfactory record keeping by maintaining adequate documentation and filing.
•  Work collaboratively with On-Premise sales management and sales consultants
•  Submit prompt and accurate reports.
•  Arrives to work, meetings, appointments and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
•  Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

•  Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager
•  Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

•  Overtime work may be required, normal office environment; travel by airplane and automobile; occasional overnight travel

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED:

•  Standard office equipment, including computer, fax, photocopier, and telephone.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•  Sitting, manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, and occasional lifting and moving up to 40 lbs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•  Bachelor's degree preferred.
•  Minimum of 5 years' sales experience; wine industry experience strongly preferred.
•  Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
•  Strong planning, prioritizing and organizational skills
•  Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization
•  Comfortable with Web-based tools
•  Valid Driver's License
•  Hybrid Work Schedule: Required in-office Tuesday-Thursday, with additional in-office attendance required as needed for special meetings or business needs on non-designated in-office days.
