Demetria Estate is a family owned winery that farms and produces mostly Rhone varietals from the estate, as well as a few other varietals harvested from the property and sourced from other vineyards in the area. We are looking for a curious and highly motivated individual to join our dynamic winemaking team for Harvest 2026 as a Harvest Helper, learning the ins and outs of working in a winery in the Santa Ynez Valley. You will have the opportunity to work alongside winemakers with a focus on biodynamic farming and native fermentations, learning every aspect of winemaking from processing to fermentation and lab analysis.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Receiving and processing fruit
Vineyard sample tracking and analysis
Fermentation analysis
Using winery equipment (presses, pumps, destemmer, steamer, etc)
Punchdowns and pumpovers
Tank and equipment cleaning and sanitizing
Barrel maintenance
General cellar work (racking, topping, etc)
While previous winery experience is not required, it is a plus. The appropriate individual must be able to work eight hour shifts Monday - Friday, with potential for the occasional weekend day. Being able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety is required. Must be able to lift, carry, and move 50+ pounds and be able to work both out in the sun as well as in the cool cellar for multiple hours. Most importantly, possessing a strong ability to work as part of a team as well as individually, and a willingness to learn and take direction. We look forward to hearing from you!
