Foley Family Farms (FFF) is a rapidly growing West Coast company with farming in California and Oregon.
Position Summary:
The Vineyard Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily vineyard operations, ensuring field crews complete assigned tasks efficiently, safely, and to established quality standards. This position plays a key role in executing vineyard plans related to pruning, canopy management, irrigation, harvest, and general vineyard maintenance.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on vineyard experience, strong leadership capability, and the ability to communicate effectively with both management and crew members.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and direct vineyard crews in daily activities, including pruning, suckering, leafing, shoot positioning, wire lifting, cluster thinning, harvest, and general ranch maintenance.
• Train and mentor internal crew members to ensure safe and proper vineyard practices.
• Monitor work quality and productivity; provide real-time feedback and make adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate with the Vineyard Manager to determine labor needs and schedule crews to meet operational goals.
• Maintain accurate daily records of labor, tasks completed, and equipment usage, enter data into AgCode (or designated maintenance system).
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and Cal/OSHA regulations.
• Monitor and report vineyard conditions (including pest pressure, disease presence, irrigation issues, and vine stress) to the Vineyard Manager.
• Assist with special projects, basic equipment maintenance, and irrigation system monitoring.
• Prepare spray locations and documentation for night shift spray operators, including PPE readiness, pesticide staging, and work orders.
• Coordinate with spray supervisor to ensure spray schedules are followed accurately.
• Oversee irrigators to ensure irrigation schedules are completed as planned.
Safety:
Foley Family Farms supervisors are expected to lead by example, enforce all components of the company safety program, and support the continuous improvement of workplace safety culture. Supervisors play a critical leadership role that includes:
• Ensuring all employees follow safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe operating procedures.
• Providing clear direction on safe tractor operation, chemical handling, equipment uses, and vineyard tasks.
• Actively monitoring employees and correcting unsafe behaviors or conditions.
• Submitting Safety Catches and encouraging employees to participate in hazard reporting.
• Documenting incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions promptly and accurately.
• Participating in the safety committee and communicating safety concerns and improvements directly to the Safety Manager.
• Supporting ongoing training, compliance checks, and continuous improvement efforts.
Supervisors are expected to foster a culture where safety is a shared responsibility and a non-negotiable part of daily operations.

Education & Experience:
• 3+ years of vineyard experience, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of viticultural practices and seasonal vineyard operations.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
• Proficiency with basic digital recordkeeping systems (e.g., time sheets, AgCode).
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, lifting, reaching, and walking.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on uneven terrain.
• Availability for extended work hours during peak seasons, including harvest.
Work Environment
This position is primarily outdoors in agricultural settings with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and sunlight. The Vineyard Supervisor works closely with crews and management to maintain vineyard quality and productivity throughout the growing season.
