Job Description:

Paul Hobbs Winery, a grower and producer of luxury Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, seeks a dedicated and organized individual to join their accounting team. The ability to manage multiple, high priority projects while maintaining daily workflow, attention to detail and a great attitude are paramount.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing company disbursements, ensuring that vendors and suppliers are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies. The role also provides support for general accounting functions.

This is a full-time position. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Examples of responsibilities (not limited to those listed below):

1. Processes vendor invoices and ensures proper authorization and coding in coordination with cost center managers.
2. Reconciles vendor statements, investigates discrepancies, and resolves billing issues promptly.
3. Manages weekly disbursements, including check runs, ACH, and wire transfers.
4. Prepares annual 1099 filings and maintains vendor records for compliance.
5. Processes employee travel and expense reimbursements in accordance with company policy.
6. Maintains payment schedules for containers, barrels, and other recurring obligations.
7. Supports Allocation & Inventory Specialist with wholesale billbacks.
8. Supports Staff Accountant with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation calculations.
9. Prepares ad hoc financial and cost center reports as requested.
10. Assists the Controller with related-party transactions and entries in QuickBooks.

Job requirements:

1. Minimum 2 years of previous experience in accounting.
2. ERP system working knowledge, NetSuite experience preferred.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint. Strong Excel skills preferred.
4. Flexibility to work weekends and off hours, and willingness to help with any task as needed.
5. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs., or a 9L case of wine.
