Jarvis Estate is a family owned, ultra-premium Napa winery with limited production of wines exclusively made from our estate vineyards on the eastern hillsides of Napa. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant who will initially support core accounting functions and progressively assume ownership of the month-end close, financial statement preparation, and key accounting processes. This role is designated for an individual who has the potential to grow into a Controller position. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the General Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Core Responsibilities
•  Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
•  Bank and account reconciliations
•  Journal entries and support of monthly close
•  Inventory and costing support, including winery-specific accounting processes
•  Maintenance of accurate and timely financial records
Growth Responsibilities
•  Ownership of month-end and year-end close processes
•  Preparation of internal financial statements
•  Assistance with budgeting and forecasting
•  Coordination with external CPA and tax advisors
•  Improvement of systems, controls, and reporting processes
•  Preparation of inventory accounting, wine costing, and regulatory compliance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field, or equivalent experience
•  2-5 years of accounting experience
•  Experience contributing to or participating in a month-end close process
•  Strong analytical skills and understanding of tax basis or GAAP accounting
•  High proficiency in Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•  Public accounting and/or wine industry experience
•  Experience preparing financial statements
•  Experience with eCELLAR, ShipCompliant, JET Reporting, and Bill.com
•  Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required
