Job Description:
Balletto Vineyards is searching for a seasonal harvest intern for 2026 growing season. The internship will be in the vineyards in the Russian River Valley – from the Sebastopol Hills to Laguna Ridge and the Santa Rosa Plains. The intern will work directly with viticulturalist and winery lab, with opportunities to learn about vineyard operations as well.

Start date will likely be mid-July. The internship will extend into November or possibly later, depending on the growing season. The internship will conclude after harvest is completed. The work is full-time during the week with occasional weekends and overtime during the harvest season.

The harvest intern is expected to work directly with the vineyard team performing the following duties:
•  Collecting cluster samples to monitor grape maturity and harvest timing
•  Crop estimation including cluster weights and cluster counts
•  Assisting with harvest operations
•  Pest, disease, and weed scouting
•  Assist with improving sustainability program
•  Performing distribution uniformity tests
•  Data input
•  Soil sampling

Applicants should have a basic knowledge of vineyards with a desire to continue learning more. Additionally, a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record is required to drive to our vineyard sites using a company vehicle. Occasionally, the intern will be required to lift 50 lbs. Applicants must have a willingness to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk through steep vineyards and work overtime/weekends through peak harvest. Applicants must be able to operate an ATV for an extended period of time in steep terrain. Must be able to work independently, clearly communicate with entire team, take direction to execute tasks correctly, and an understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is highly encouraged.

Balletto Vineyards is one of the few 100% estate-grown and estate-bottled wineries in the Russian River Valley. The family-owned winery sources all its fruit from its own vineyards and specializes in Russian River Valley AVA and vineyard-designated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are consistently elegant, balanced and delicious.
