About the Role
At Gloria Ferrer Winery, we believe exceptional wine deserves an equally exceptional guest experience. We are seeking an Events & Hospitality Assistant Manager who is passionate about creating memorable, elevated experiences and thrives in a dynamic, guest-focused environment.
This role supports both Events and Hospitality operations, working closely with the Sr. Hospitality & Events Manager to ensure seamless day-to-day execution. From leading teams to coordinating events and driving sales, this position blends operational excellence with warm, approachable hospitality.
Your Impact
Lead & Inspire
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of Hospitality and Events team members
• Provide day-to-day leadership to ensure accountability, engagement, and performance
• Partner on performance management and employee development
• Create and manage team schedules aligned with business needs and compliance requirements
• Foster a positive, service-driven team culture
Deliver Exceptional Guest Experiences
• Oversee daily hospitality operations to ensure a seamless and elevated guest experience
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across all guest areas
• Engage with guests through hosting, wine education, and service when needed
• Drive tasting room sales, wine club conversions, and guest loyalty
Plan & Execute Memorable Events
• Coordinate and execute private, corporate, club, and winery events
• Manage logistics including vendors, timelines, and on-site execution
• Conduct site visits and build strong client relationships
• Partner with Marketing and DTC teams to promote and enhance events
• Ensure accurate documentation, contracts, and financial reconciliation
Drive Results
• Support revenue goals, budgeting, and cost control initiatives
• Track and communicate progress toward sales and event targets
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
Support Safety & Compliance
• Uphold company safety programs and policies
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and operational standards
What Makes You Successful in This Role
• 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, events, food & beverage, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Proven experience in event planning and execution
• Strong guest service and sales mindset, with the ability to create meaningful connections
• Leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop teams
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with systems such as Microsoft Office, POS platforms, CRM tools (Commerce7, TOCK preferred)
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• RBS and Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain)
• Must be 21+ years of age
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 48 lbs (e.g., case of wine)
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to navigate stairs and uneven surfaces
