PT CULINARY ASSOCIATE - Job Description
Summary of Position:
The Culinary Associate is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food while maintaining cleanliness, food safety and efficient kitchen operations.
This position is part-time and requires working weekends. This position reports to the General Manager.
Qualifications:
Good communication skills.
Previous experience with grilling, salad and sandwich preparation, pans and deep frying.
Able to accurately read and communicate orders.
Well organized.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency; able to track multiple orders and multitask.
Works well under pressure.
Team player; works productively with others.
Able to take initiative and is self-motivated.
Able to take direction accurately and execute tasks.
Understands food safety practices.
Has a valid Washington State Food Workers Card.
Key Responsibilities:
Presents self professionally with a clean uniform and well groomed.
Maintains up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all current menu items and special event items.
Prepares food dishes which involves chopping ingredients, following recipes and ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
Meets timing standards.
Coordinates orders with others; assists coworkers as needed.
Collaborates with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure timely services to guests and efficient kitchen management.
Ensures areas of responsibility are well stocked and ready for guests.
Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift.
Adheres to food safety regulations.
Monitors ingredient levels, assists with ordering supplies and ensures proper storage of food items.
Other tasks as assigned including opening and closing duties.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for at least 4 hours.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30-40lbs on a regular basis and throughout the shift.
Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights throughout the shift
Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability and visual acuity
