Atlas Vineyard Management (AVM) is one of California’s premier vineyard management companies, providing comprehensive services to top-tier wineries across the region. We’re investing heavily in precision viticulture technology; deploying camera-equipped ATVs to capture detailed, per-vine vineyard data that shapes how our client’s farm. If you enjoy operating equipment outdoors and want your work to have a real impact on how premium wine is grown, this role is for you.
What You Will Do
You will be the person who gets the scanning done. Each day, you will haul equipment to a vineyard site, set up and verify the camera systems, then drive precise ATV passes through the rows to capture high-quality visual data. You keep things moving, communicate progress to your manager, and make sure data is clean and uploaded before you wrap up.
-ATV Operation & Equipment
**Safely transport ATVs, trailers, and scanning equipment to and from vineyard sites
**Mount, secure, and inspect camera systems before each scan
**Operate ATVs through vineyard rows with precision to capture consistent, accurate data
**Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on ATVs, trailers, cameras, and vehicles
**Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures
-Data Collection & Quality Control
**Follow established data collection protocols and flag or troubleshoot issues in the field
**Ensure camera setup correctly captures vineyard canopy and trunk conditions on each pass
**Monitor data quality and camera status using an ATV-mounted tablet while scanning
**Start up and shut down camera systems daily; confirm data is fully uploaded before leaving the site
-Communication & Coordination
Stay in regular contact with the Vineyard Robotics Manager throughout each workday
Provide clear updates on scanning progress, equipment status, and any field issues
Assist with occasional vineyard activities (pest and disease scouting, tissue sampling, data entry) as needed
