We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Spirits Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for spirits and hospitality. The Spirits Specialist will be responsible for supporting sales efforts and maximizing the distribution and visibility of Skurnik Spirits brands across both on-premise and off-premise accounts throughout Metro NYC.
Key Responsibilities
• Support sales representatives in promoting and selling spirits brands
• Deliver spirits samples to accounts
• Conduct in-office bar tastings
• Execute in-store tastings (approximately 24 annually)
• Schedule and lead consumer events in partnership with on and off premise accounts
• Participate in supplier and market work with brand and sales managers
• Assist with research and development for high-touch cocktail programs
• Provide portfolio education to sales representatives and customers
• Conduct staff trainings at account locations
• Manage account relationships through regular in-person visits and virtual communication
• Act as a conduit for the spirits portfolio by communicating messaging, updates and priorities effectively with sales representatives
• Participate in monthly company sales meetings and spirits events
• Complete sales initiatives, goals, and incentive programs
• Track and report on sales activity; analyze data to support decision-making
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
o Alcohol beverage sales
o Hospitality or bar programs
o Culinary or tasting room environments
o Supplier or wholesale distribution
• Strong cocktail knowledge and a genuine passion for hospitality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook)
• Must be based in Metro NYC (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, or Staten Island)
Skurnik Wines & Spirits offers a competitive compensation package with expected first-year salary between $65,000 - $80,000 not including a metric-based bonus and competitive benefits package. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.
