Abbott Claim is a winery located in the countryside of Carlton, Oregon. We focus on making small-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines of uncompromising quality from our organically and regeneratively farmed estate vineyard, as well as from a few choice sites around the Willamette Valley.

We are seeking one passionate, hard-working individual to help us vinify the upcoming 2026 vintage. They will become an integral part of our small team and must share our unwavering dedication to making distinctive, terroir wines. If not a US citizen, they must be eligible for and secure a J1 Visa; we are happy to do our part to help in that process.

Qualifications we look for:
•  An unusually high attention to detail
•  A passion for all things wine, and the metric system
•  A desire to learn more and a positive attitude, always
•  Able to accurately complete work instructions individually or within a team
•  Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time and go up and down stairs
•  Able to read, write, speak and understand English
•  Able to drive and work legally in the US
•  Pass a drug test

Daily tasks include but aren’t limited to:
•  Vineyard sampling and maturity control
•  Running crush-pad equipment and sorting fruit
•  Operating a forklift
•  Rolling, lifting barrels
•  Managing fermentations with pump-overs & pigeages
•  Operating a press
•  Moving must or wine using a pump
•  A large amount of winery cleaning and sanitation
•  Laboratory work

In return we are happy to provide:
•  Very competitive pay within the valley, including overtime

•  Lunch, as long as fruit is coming in and until we finish pressing
•  Dinner, on nights we work late

The ideal candidate will be available from mid-August to early November, secure his/her own lodging (we can help), and be able to work long hours and weekends as needed.
