Fellow Travelers:
Before we know it, the 2026 Harvest will be here...so if working a Willamette Valley wine harvest is something you may be interested in, let me tell you a little about Duck Pond Cellars. At Duck Pond we have a heavy emphasis on sustainable winemaking practices, in particular working with growers in Oregon who farm their vineyards without the introduction of pesticides and heavy metals. So you will be able to see organic, pesticide-free, no sulfites added, and Clean Label Project certified wines being produced up close and personal. To this end, we are looking for a crew of human beings who are game to get their hands dirty with us to kick off the process of turning grapes into over 100,000 cases of wine; at Duck Pond we make Duck Pond (go figure), Firesteed, Rascal, and Ransom labels. It’s hard work and the hours are long (6 days a week during the heat of it), but you will get an all-encompassing experience that will take you all the way from small-lot ferments and barrel work to loading over 20 tons of white fruit into a press and processing up to 200 tons of red fruit in a single day - I guarantee you will see it all. We also produce grappa and vermouth during this time, so it doesn’t end with only wine.
We are committed to making this the best possible experience for all those involved - you’ll have to come join us to see for yourself…
