Job Description:

If you are a hardworking, passionate individual who is willing to learn and gain winemaking knowledge through a fun, exciting, and demanding experience, Marine Layer Wines is looking for you to join our 2026 Intern Team.

Our cellar is located right off the square in downtown Healdsburg and is focused on crafting premium, distinctive, and balanced wines that are representative of their origin. The heart of our winemaking lies with Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from hand selected sites throughout the area, as well as high-quality Picpoul, Vermentino, and Syrah. Our team is a passionate, tightly-knit group who continuously looks to hone our skills through experimentation and exposure to fun, interesting wines that inspire us.

As a small team we all contribute to every aspect of the winemaking process, and are looking for people willing to do the same. During the internship you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of harvest activities, from vineyards to cellar work, and will perform an assortment of tasks throughout the season. We also host a small group of custom crush clients who bring different winemaking approaches and a wide array of grape varietals to work with, including Chenin Blanc, Petite Arvine, Gewurtztraminer, Cabernet Franc, and Gamay.

The individual who fills this position will be someone who is detail-oriented and efficient, who enjoys physical work, works well in a collaborative environment, and communicates well with others. They will need to precisely follow verbal instructions and written work orders, ask questions when appropriate, and have a desire to learn and leave a lasting mark on a vintage.

This position requires flexible hours working indoor and outdoor as well as being open to performing new tasks throughout the internship.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sanitation, fruit processing, fermentation management, barrel downs, rackings, inoculations, additions, topping, and consolidations.
Follow instructions of full-time members and complete tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Maintain cellar organization and sanitation.

Qualifications:
Passion for wine
Desire to learn through hands-on experience
An individual who is highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized
Ability to multitask and have flexibility towards changing priorities
Willingness to work extended hours for six days a week during our peak
Ability to push and pull 100lbs, and lift 50lbs
Cellar experience and basic understanding of winemaking process is a plus

All candidates must be eligible to work in the US and have good English language skills.
