NW Wine Company/Hyland Estates located in Dundee, Oregon is looking for interns for the 2026 vintage. We are a custom winegrowing facility, specializing in the production of ultra-premium Pinot Noir for which Oregon’s Willamette Valley has become world-renowned.
NW offers an all-inclusive service encompassing all steps of the winemaking process from vine to barrel to bottle. Our state of the art facility includes a brand new high end winery for the 2026 vintage.
In addition to our winemaking facilities, NW Wine Company also owns or manages multiple distinct vineyard properties in the Willamette Valley, totaling 1200 acres.
The vineyards are predominantly planted to Pinot Noir, but we also have substantial plantings of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, and many other cool climate varietals.
This is a full time paid seasonal position for approximately 3 months, starting in late August. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for wine and are excited to learn more about the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Pulling Samples
• Supporting bottling operations with sample pulling, analysis and data entry
• Running routine harvest analysis (Ph, Brix, TA, Do280nm..)
• Set up sample tasting during harvest
• Help entering lab analysis, inoculations and additions work order in Vintrace
• Process fruit samples, record analysis
• Support cellar work with yeast inoculations, additions, etc.
• Help sampling for malolactic fermentation tracking post-harvest if applicable
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Enology or a related science such as chemistry or biochemistry preferred
• Strong computer skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must understand and be able to communicate in English
• Must have excellent organizational skills, including detailed record keeping
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work safely around equipment and chemicals
• Ability to follow written instructions accurately
• Ability to multitask
• Willingness and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Able to lift and carry 50Lbs
• Strict adherence to safety
• Good basic math skills
• Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of wine testing equipment
• Willing to pass and obtain a forklift operator license
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
PREFERRED
• Previous lab analysis experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Willing to work long hours, various shifts, and overtime as needed
• Inside/Outside conditions: During Crush, work outside, with weather of varying types
• Wet/slippery conditions vary and may include work in rain.
• Required to lift and move up to 45 lbs.
• Noise levels may vary. Occasional situations where ear protection is required.
