McMenamins Edgefield Winery & Ciderhouse is Seeking a Temporary Cellar Crew Member to Join Our Team!

Our Winery and Ciderhouse is housed at McMenamins’ historic Edgefield property, located just 15 minutes outside Portland in Troutdale, OR. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with a variety of Burgundian and Bordeaux grape varietals grown in the Northwest and year-round fresh pressed apple juice fermentation. In addition to the winery and cidery, Edgefield is home to a historic hotel, three restaurants, multiple bars, a brewery, a distillery, a golf course, a spa, and much more. We are seeking a Temporary Cellar Crewmember who is looking for hands-on experience to be a part of all the great things happening here!

This position will start immediately and primarily focus on cider work for the summer season before transitioning over to work harvest through late October/early November.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Cleaning and Sanitizing (tanks, lines, cellar upkeep)
•  Cider Carbonation Management
•  Movements (pump-overs, racking, blending, filtration)
•  Washing and Filling Kegs
•  Fruit Processing (receiving, crushing, pressing)
•  Additions and Inoculations
•  Cap Management (pump-overs/ punch-downs)
•  Draining, digging and pressing off bins and tanks.
•  Barrel Work
•  Packaging (mobile bottle and canning lines, hand bottling)
•  Equipment Use (pumps, electric pallet jack, forklift, ladders, various gasses)
•  Other duties, as required.

Qualifications Needed:
•  Prior cellar and/or forklift experience is preferred, although not required.
•  Willing and capable to work long and hard hours, including overtime, weekends, and evenings. Harvest shifts are 6 days a week for 10-12 hours a shift.
•  Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
•  Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete other physically demanding tasks.
•  Ok climbing ladders and working at various heights.
•  Understand and comply with all safety requirements.
•  Ability to read, follow, and complete work orders in English.
•  Effective communication skills.
•  Must be 21 years of age or older.
•  Positive attitude and willingness to learn!
