Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager

Sequoia Grove Vineyards

Napa, CA

Apply

Job Description:

For more than forty years, Sequoia Grove Winery has called Rutherford home, crafting Napa Valley wines rooted in place, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and brought to life through thoughtful, welcoming hospitality. We believe great wine is meant to be shared, and the best experiences happen when people slow down, connect, and enjoy what’s in the glass together.

We’re looking for a Tasting Room & Hospitality Manager to lead the daily energy of our onsite experience. This role is all about presence - on the floor, with the team, and with our guests. You’ll set the tone, build a strong team culture, and drive tasting room performance and wine club growth, while continuing to shape and elevate how we show up for our guests.

You’ll lead from the front by coaching the team, refining the experience, and making sure every detail feels intentional. Success in this role comes from balancing hospitality and performance: creating an environment that feels warm and natural, while consistently delivering strong results. We’re a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves kind of team that values integrity, attention to detail, and people who take pride in what they do.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Consumer Sales & Marketing. The anticipated salary range for this position is between $85,000.00 and $100,000.00. plus annual bonus.

Position Summary

This role leads the day-to-day operation of Sequoia Grove’s tasting room and hospitality spaces, ensuring a consistently elevated guest experience while driving sales and wine club growth. You’ll be a constant presence on the floor - setting the pace, modeling service, and creating a team environment where hospitality and results naturally align.

You’ll hire, train, and develop a team that knows how to connect with guests in a genuine way, while confidently guiding them through our wines and experiences. Through clear communication, ongoing coaching, and a focus on the details, you’ll help the team consistently deliver at a high level.

You’ll also keep a close eye on performance by tracking key metrics like conversion, average order value, and wine club signups - and use those insights to fine-tune the approach and drive results.

Behind the scenes, you’ll ensure the business runs smoothly day-to-day, including team scheduling, payroll and tip approvals, and accurate data entry across POS and CRM systems. You’ll oversee inventory movement and reconciliation, maintain organized and effective merchandising in the tasting room, and support the development of the tasting room budget through monthly reporting and performance tracking.

Beyond the floor, you’ll partner with leadership to identify opportunities to improve the experience, test new ideas, and support new initiatives. You’ll ensure operations run smoothly across all touchpoints, from inventory and POS to the overall look and feel of the space.

This role also extends into the broader community, supporting events, building local relationships, and representing Sequoia Grove as a place people want to return to and share with others.
