About Us:
Wine Country Licensing provides compliance services for wineries, wholesalers, and importers, including licensing, reporting, product registration, and regulatory support across out-of-state, home-state, and federal (TTB) requirements.
We are a small, fast-paced team looking for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
Position Overview:
The Wine Compliance Associate manages a portfolio of clients and is responsible for supporting their ongoing compliance needs across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is detail-heavy, deadline-driven, and requires strong organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of their work and serving as a primary point of contact for clients.
This is a full-time, in-office position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as a primary point of contact
- Prepare and file recurring compliance reports (state, out-of-state, and federal/TTB)
- Track and manage licensing renewals, cancellations, and amendments
- Apply for new permits and maintain active licenses
- Assist with product and brand registrations
- Perform permit clean-up and ensure records are accurate and up to date
- Review shipping activity and assist with compliance strategy and efficiencies
- Communicate directly with state agencies and regulators to resolve notices or issues
- Appoint distributors and manage related filings
- Set up and manage state compliance accounts and online portals
- Maintain and update reporting schedules and filing requirements
- Perform basic math calculations (liters, gallons, invoice totals) to support reporting
- Prepare and submit price postings when required
- Maintain accurate records and documentation across all client accounts
- Follow established internal procedures and workflows to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Handle sensitive client information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and multitask effectively
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Excel, Adobe, and Microsoft Word
- Comfortable working in an in-office environment
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with alcohol compliance, regulatory filings, or reporting
- Familiarity with TTB and/or ShipCompliant
- Background in wine, distribution, or compliance-related work
