Ponzi Vineyards, one of Oregon’s founding wineries, is seeking an experienced Harvest Enologist to join us for the upcoming 2026 Vintage. We specialize in the production of premium Pinot noir and Chardonnay, along with other varietals such as Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
This is a full time, paid seasonal position, starting Mid-July/Early August through Mid-November with flexibility in start and end dates. We are looking for a hardworking individual who has a passion for wine and is excited to learn more about the Oregon winemaking process in a gravity flow facility.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Winemaker and Enologist/Production Manager, the Harvest Enologist is responsible for managing a smooth and safe workflow in the lab during harvest. The Harvest Enologist will provide Lab and Cellar support and assistance throughout the vintage process to ensure wines are maintained to quality standards outlined and safety measures are followed by all.
Skills required for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Sound computer literacy with knowledge of wine software (experience with Innovint is a plus), Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to critically and analytically think through daily tasks and problems, if/when they arise.
• Ability to work long hours and be on foot for extended periods of time.
Lab Operations include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Ability to operate, maintain, and understand a Y15 auto-analyzer.
• Able to perform all routine analysis on juice/wine applicable to Ponzi Vineyards’ program.
• Ability to understand, record, and explain analysis results as it pertains to juice, wine, and fermentation samples.
• Timely implementation, maintenance, and data entry of winery database.
• Work with winemaking staff to monitor fermentation and any microbial issues that may arise.
• Maintain the highest standard of laboratory safety, cleanliness, organization, and appearance.
• Reviewing and logging/input of analysis results.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and batch tracking and informing supervisor when supplies are low.
• Send out juice/wine analysis to grower’s and custom crush clients when requested.
Production Operations responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with standard winemaking harvest operation procedures, e.g. cleaning, cap management operations, fruit processing, sampling, etc.
• Assist with standard winemaking cellar operation procedures when needed, e.g. cleaning, topping, sample pulling, racking, transfers, climbing ladders & stairs, blending, etc.
• Responsible for general safety, cleanliness, appearance and maintenance of cellar and equipment.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Follow all protocols in place for the safety of all members on the vintage team and Ponzi employees according to Ponzi Vineyards, OSHA, the CDC and the State of Oregon.
