Harvest Lab Technician Position
Situated in the southernmost tip of the Dundee Hills, Stoller Family Estate is a 398 acre property with over 220 acres of contiguous vineyards planted primarily to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We are looking for an intern that is a hardworking, cheerful, team player and enjoys getting their hands dirty making beautiful, well-crafted wines.
The Harvest Lab Technician will work directly with the Enologist and Winemaking Team to complete all tasks related to wine analysis and quality assurance. This is a temporary position with hours that vary depending on the needs of the winery; weekends, holidays and long hours during harvest will be required.
Some Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete all routine analysis requested at the direction of the winemaking team.
• Responsible for all lab work associated with our two onsite facilities as well as our sister winery.
• Daily set-up, calibration, operation, and maintenance of our lab equipment such as the Gallery Discrete Analyzer, Auto-Titrator, and Alcolyzer.
• Constantly maintain a clean and organized lab environment during and after analysis.
• Responsible for pulling samples as requested from tanks and barrels in both wineries.
• Put together blends and bench trials and assist in all pre-bottling lab tasks.
• During harvest, manage grape maturity analysis.
• Daily Brix & Temperature monitoring of the cellar.
• Works closely with cellar staff during all stages of winemaking to assist in wine movements and additions (Example: 80% of your time in the lab 20% in the cellar).
• Records all data accurately and with very close attention to detail and precision.
• Able to move quickly and efficiently while collecting precise and accurate data.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Enology/Viticulture, chemistry, biology, life sciences or other science related field.
• Minimum 2-3 vintages of harvest lab and cellar experience.
• Excellent communication and written skills necessary.
• Highly detailed and organized individual required.
• Experience with excel and database systems (Vintrace a plus).
• Basic knowledge of wet chemistry and experience with automated equipment.
• Previous winery experience of any kind, lab analysis a plus.
• Able to work flexible/long hours on your feet, lifting up to 50lbs.
• Be a team player who can work well independently and within team.
• Positive attitude and driven individual wanting to work hard and learn.
Compensation:
• Hourly DOE, starting $20/hr
• Meals provided on shift
• Approx. Term mid-August 2026 through mid-February/March 2027
