SCOPE:
Manage and lead all aspects of the Odette Estate tasting room, driving sales performance, delivering elevated
hospitality, and upholding exceptional operational standards. This role is responsible for developing a high
performing team and creating an environment where guest experience and business results are equally prioritized.
ROLE AND EXPECTATIONS:
Operations Management
• Manage daily operations, including opening, closing, and cash accounting, with consistency and attention to detail.
• Maintain an active presence on the floor, leading by example and supporting the team during service.
• Partner with the Hospitality Regional Manager to monitor and drive key performance metrics, including wine sales, average order value, new customer acquisition, and membership conversion.
• Deliver an elevated and detail-oriented hospitality experience, ensuring each guest interaction feels personal, seamless, and aligned with the Odette brand.
• Manage and respond to guest inquiries, feedback, and service recovery with professionalism and urgency.
Personnel Management:
• Hire, train, and manage tasting room staff, ensuring alignment with company standards and expectations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and fairness across all shifts and team members.
• Provide ongoing coaching focused on sales, guest engagement, and product knowledge.
• Conduct annual evaluations and regular performance conversations with clear expectations and follow-through.
• Support ongoing training and cross-training initiatives across PlumpJack Collection properties.
Financial and Administrative Management
• Partner with the Hospitality Regional Manager to develop and manage annual revenue and expense budgets for the tasting room, with a focus on profitability and performance.
• Oversee administrative responsibilities, including inventory management, compliance, order entry, and customer service resolutions.
• Utilize POS and reporting systems to track performance, identify opportunities, and support decision-making.
• Manage relationships and contracts with external service providers such as janitorial and landscaping services.
Other Essential Duties
• Serve as a brand ambassador for Odette Estate, cultivating relationships with concierge partners, hotels, and local businesses to drive qualified and VIP visitation.
• Lead and support initiatives that increase visitation during key business periods, including weekday and off-peak opportunities.
• Collaborate with leadership on new experiences and activations that enhance guest engagement and drive revenue.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; particularly valuable in Business Management, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial role within retail or hospitality, demonstrating strong leadership, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
• Proven experience in driving sales, managing teams, and executing on business goals.
• Experience in handling revenue and expense budgeting.
• Skilled in using Wine Direct and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to lead, coach, and present to groups.
• Committed to high standards in guest experience, service, and operational execution.
• Ability to work weekends and adapt to a flexible schedule as needed.
