2026 Harvest Winemaking Internship – Early Mountain Vineyards

Harvest Internship Opportunity
Early Mountain is seeking winemaking interns for the 2026 harvest, with internships running from August through late October or early November (season dependent).
Job Responsibilities:
• Cellar duties including fruit intake, sorting, processing and equipment operation
• Cleaning and sanitation of vessels, cellar area, and winemaking equipment
• Fermentation sampling and monitoring
• Tank management, including juice and wine racking, barrel downs, stirring and topping
• Barrel preparation
• Fermentation and cap management, including punch downs and pump overs
• Draining and pressing of red fermentations
• Support other cellar operations as needed
Qualifications:
• A strong passion to learn about East Coast wine production
• Previous harvest experience or related education in viticulture or enology
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50 lbs. regularly
• Willingness to work long hours as needed, including weekends during peak times
• Understanding of general winemaking practices
• Forklift operation experience preferred
• A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Basic math skills
• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus
• Reliable transportation
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
Compensation:
This is a paid hourly position, with eligibility for overtime pay.
