Position Overview
The Account Manager leads the day-to-day execution of integrated marketing programs for Solterra’s tourism and destination marketing clients. This role ensures strategies are delivered effectively across earned, owned, and paid media channels while building strong relationships with clients, agency partners, and community stakeholders.
As the operational lead for assigned accounts, the Account Manager manages projects, coordinates internal and external teams, and keeps deliverables on schedule and aligned with strategic goals. The role also supports stakeholder engagement, performance reporting, and board-level communications.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing Plan Management and Execution
•  Lead day-to-day execution of client marketing plans across earned, owned, and paid media channels
•  Coordinate internal team members and agency partners to ensure timely delivery of marketing initiatives
•  Manage and optimize project timelines, workflows, and deliverables
•  Ensure brand standards, messaging, and storytelling remain consistent across all channels

Client and Stakeholder Engagement, Management and Reporting
•  Lead bi-monthly Marketing Committee meetings
•  Support the Chief Strategist in preparation for and execution of approximately eight board meetings per year
•  Participate in the meetings and events task force
•  Lead, prepare and deliver monthly marketing performance reports
•  Create annual reports and program summaries
•  Provide clear communication with clients and stakeholders on project progress
•  Ensure responsiveness and accountability in all client communications

Group Sales and Industry Engagement
•  Support tourism sales initiatives and outreach programs
•  Attend 1–2 trade shows annually
•  Respond to and fulfill group sales leads
•  Meet with regional partners and constituents to support destination marketing initiatives

Leadership and Team Management
•  Supervise, lead and mentor across the organization
•  Collaborate closely with communications and digital media teams
•  Support hiring decisions in partnership with the Chief Strategist

Decision Making and Autonomy
•  Establish systems and workflows that support efficient project execution.
•  Strategic ideas and initiatives are developed collaboratively with the Chief Strategist. Any budget items outside of the approved marketing plan require client approval.
•  The role supports management of Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) budgets exceeding $2 million annually.

Qualifications
•  4+ years of experience in marketing and account management in an agency or DMO environment
•  Proven ability to manage complex marketing programs and coordinate stakeholders
•  Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple projects, deadlines, and/or deliverables
•  Proven ability to clearly communicate project status, risks, and next steps with a proactive approach to anticipating needs and supporting leadership priorities
•  Experience with project management platforms such as Asana
•  Experience with marketing strategy and campaign execution
•  Proficiency in digital media management and analytics
•  Ability to navigate website updates and editing via CRM
•  Proficiency with content development and writing
•  Experience with marketing research and performance analysis
•  Brand management and storytelling skills
•  Strong organizational and communication skills
•  Some experience managing and/or coaching others
•  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Drop Box and online resources
•  Familiarity with AI-assisted tools used for research, and content development, with the ability to evaluate and refine outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and brand alignment
•  Strong written and verbal communication is a must

Preferred Qualifications
•  Experience working for or partnering with a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or tourism-focused organization is highly desirable
•  Agency experience is a plus
•  Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
