The Regional Manager is responsible for managing Hess brands within assigned territory. In essence this involves the planning, program setting, performance evaluation and course Correcting of distributor teams. This role is responsible general market Sales for the California markets north of Monterey, primarily in the San Francisco Bay area.
The candidate should reside in the Bay Area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute annual operating plan for depletions and revenue focused on general market retail and on-premise channels while keeping spend within budget. Evaluate and course correct distributor performance through monthly check ins, quarterly business reviews and Milestone Program execution.
• Establish relationships with distributor sales leadership, key regional accounts and lighthouse fine wine retail and on-premise customers.
• Train and develop distributor sales representatives and sales leadership to ensure they have a strong working knowledge of our product credentials, quality accolades, pricing and merchandising standards and access to trade portal.
• Support Division Manager with robust bottoms-up annual operating plan with the distributor, defining depletions and revenue growth by channel.
• Lead sales meetings, blitzes, surveys, winemaker visits and other sales promotional activities within the region.
• Manage monthly distributor incentive communication, tracking, and comprehension.
• Drive accountability to monthly sales quotas and priorities down to the street level with SGWS Main Pad and Signature Fine Wine divisions. Execute monthly and quarterly volume projections.
• Track and manage performance through reporting tools including Karma & Power BI
• Ensure pricing compliance and proper brand standards are being met at all times.
• Develop and manage experiential training and education programs that bring key buyers and wholesaler personnel to the winery properties.
• Target and execute high profile luxury wine selling events (dinners, tastings, etc) with lighthouse retail and on-premise accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidate must be able to travel within assigned territory at least 80% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree (or the equivalent) from a four-year college or university with at least four years’ experience in the industry, two of those years in wine/spirits supplier activities.
• Experience managing distributor partnerships specifically as it relates to building pricing grids, goal alignment/achievement, and developing programs.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing market plans that drive an increased rate of sale.
• Demonstrated effective people, sales, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and innate ability to drive insight-based solutions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to travel in a timely manner.
