Groth Vineyards & Winery is currently seeking candidates for a full-time cellar position to assist our winemaking team in all aspects of wine production. We are looking for experienced candidates with a passion for wine and an excitement to make wine from some of the best vineyard sites in the Oakville. Groth Vineyards & Winery, a family-owned and operated winery in the heart of Oakville, has a been making site-driven and award-winning wines on our estate for forty-four years. We are looking for team members to join us in continuing this tradition.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three harvests of experience at a production winery and a strong work ethic. Our team will provide all additional or necessary training regarding cellar operations, forklift work, wine quality control measures, and safe work practices. Applicants with forklift experience in the cellar will be strongly preferred. Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, punctual, possess effective communication skills, and be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and varying shifts, notably during harvest, and must have a positive attitude and the ability to foster our team-oriented environment. We complete all jobs as a team or broken up into smaller teams as necessary for each project, so strong communication skills are key.

Compensation: $23-27/hr DOE

Schedule: Four-tens Monday through Thursday during off season, and as needed during harvest (September-December)

Location: Oakville, CA (90%) and Napa, CA (10%)

Essential duties and responsibilities:

-Safe operation, cleaning, sanitizing and sterilizing of all winery equipment and facilities
-Forklift operations involving full barrels, empty barrels, barrel racks, and fruit bins
-Racking and transferring of juice and wine from various vessels (i.e. tankers, tanks, barrels)
-Completion of wine and juice chemistry adjustments
-Barrel maintenance skills i.e. scanning, racking, filling, topping, cleaning, and ozone application, basic repair
-Bottling line sanitation and prep
-Follows, observes, and helps to enforce all safe cellar practices

Expectations:

-Mechanical skills and previous experience with winery equipment strongly preferred
-Sufficient reading, writing and math skills
-Ability to follow directions and work orders
