Marketing & Events Manager

Turnbull Wine Cellars

Oakville, CA

Apply

Job Description:

Turnbull is a privately-owned winery, embedded in the history and culture of the Napa Valley since 1979. We craft some of the Napa Valley’s best wines in the heart of Oakville, sourcing from our four estate vineyards located in Oakville and Calistoga. Ours is a community of farmers, makers, hosts, and passionate, like-minded individuals who abide by a culture of respect and integrity in the workplace to allow one another to thrive professionally and personally in a rewarding environment.

We are seeking a Marketing & Events Manager to lead and execute all marketing, communications, and events for Turnbull Wine Cellars.
Reporting to the DTC Sales & Marketing Director, this is a highly creative and hands-on role, responsible for shaping how the brand shows up across every touchpoint—from digital campaigns and social storytelling to immersive, on-brand events. This person will serve as the voice and steward of the brand, bringing clarity, cohesion, and intention to everything we create.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a doer—someone who can elevate the brand while also executing the work with precision and care. This role is best suited for someone ready to step into full ownership of marketing and events, with the ability to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing, Communications, and Branding
•  Serve as the primary owner of Turnbull’s brand voice and tone across all channels
•  Ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across all communications, visuals, and guest-facing materials
•  Elevate storytelling to reflect the authenticity, craftsmanship, and aesthetic of the brand
•  Continuously refine how the Turnbull story is expressed across digital and physical experiences
•  Own and execute the full lifecycle of marketing campaigns—from concept and copywriting through deployment and performance tracking
•  Write and manage all email marketing, including promotions, releases, and automated flows
•  Plan, create, and oversee all social media content, engagement, and advertising
•  Develop thoughtful, on-brand copy across all platforms (email, website, tech sheets, tasting notes, PR outreach, etc.)
•  Maintain and evolve website content to ensure alignment with brand tone and business priorities
•  Create and manage marketing collateral, including menus, event materials, and packaging elements
•  Track performance metrics across email, social, and digital channels, using insights to refine and strengthen future campaigns
•  Manage PR efforts, including media outreach, storytelling, and sample coordination
•  Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations aligned with the Turnbull brand
•  Strengthen brand presence across both DTC and wholesale channels through thoughtful communication and positioning
•  Own and thoughtfully execute all paid and organic digital marketing efforts, including Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and SEO
•  Develop campaigns that support key business goals, including visitation, brand awareness, and direct-to-consumer sales
•  Manage and optimize Turnbull’s local and geo-targeted presence, including Google Business, search visibility, and review platforms
•  Monitor campaign performance and make informed, strategic adjustments to improve effectiveness and efficiency
•  Ensure alignment between paid media, organic content, and broader brand storytelling
•  Stay current on digital trends and identify opportunities to enhance Turnbull’s visibility and reach
•  Partner closely with DTC leadership to align marketing with sales goals, product releases, and promotions
•  Support product launches and seasonal campaigns with strong creative direction and execution
•  Ensure a cohesive and elevated customer journey across all digital and physical touchpoints
•  Maintain and manage the marketing and events calendar, ensuring clear communication across teams
•  Organize and manage digital assets, marketing collateral, and event materials
•  Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between marketing, hospitality, and sales initiatives
•  Work closely with external partners (photographers, designers, PR firms) to execute projects at a high level

Events (Concept Through Execution)
•  Conceptualize and execute on-brand, high-touch events that reflect Turnbull’s aesthetic and hospitality standards
•  Lead all aspects of event planning and execution, including vendor coordination, logistics, timelines, and budgets
•  Design event experiences with a strong sense of visual storytelling and guest journey (tablescapes, florals, layout, flow)
•  Oversee onsite and offsite events, ensuring seamless execution and an elevated guest experience
•  Travel as needed to support offsite events and represent Turnbull as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade tastings, and private client experiences

Qualifications
•  4–7+ years of experience in marketing, events, or brand management
•  Wine industry experience strongly preferred, or relevant experience in luxury, hospitality, or lifestyle brands
•  Exceptional copywriting skills with a strong sense of voice, tone, and storytelling
•  Proven ability to both develop strategy and execute independently
•  Experience planning and executing high-touch events from start to finish
•  Strong visual sensibility and meticulous attention to detail
•  Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
•  Proficiency in Adobe Suite, email marketing platforms, and POS/CRM systems (Offset & Campaign Monitor preferred)
•  Must be 21+ years of age.
•  Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
•  Must be able to work occasional weekends/evenings for events.

Benefits & Perks
