About Us
We’re a specialty wine and spirits retailer with a strong in-store presence and a growing digital business. We operate multiple wine and spirits e-commerce sites on City Hive, each serving distinct customer audiences. We’re looking for an E-commerce Manager to own and grow these online channels—driving performance beyond where it is today through stronger merchandising, marketing execution, operational excellence, and a growth mindset.
The Role
This is both a hands-on operations and growth leadership position. You’ll manage day-to-day e-commerce performance across multiple sites while building the systems, cadence, and initiatives to scale revenue and improve customer experience. You’ll also oversee order fulfillment and shipping operations, including managing shipping personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site E-commerce Management (City Hive)
• Own daily operations across multiple City Hive websites, ensuring each site is current, shoppable, and aligned to its target audience.
• Manage the catalog end-to-end: new SKUs, pricing, vintage changes, product attributes, imagery, collections, tags, and site searchability.
• Maintain high inventory accuracy by coordinating with store/POS processes and quickly resolving discrepancies.
• Build and manage weekly and seasonal promotions (specials, bundles, featured collections, allocations, gifting).
Email Marketing & Promotional Calendar
• Plan, build, and deploy weekly sales email blasts (and additional campaigns as needed).
• Own offer strategy, copy, layout/creative coordination, QA, segmentation, scheduling, and reporting.
• Improve performance through testing and optimization (subject lines, offers, creative, send cadence, segmentation).
• Identify and implement smart automation where appropriate (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back).
Growth & Performance Ownership
• Drive growth initiatives to expand revenue beyond current performance: conversion rate improvements, AOV strategies, repeat purchase, and customer retention.
• Monitor KPIs and report weekly/monthly: site revenue, conversion, email performance, top sellers, customer behavior, and promo results.
• Identify opportunities across channels (email, onsite merchandising, events, partnerships) and execute or coordinate them.
Fulfillment & Shipping Operations
• Oversee order fulfillment across all e-commerce sites to ensure fast, accurate, brand-appropriate delivery.
• Manage and coordinate shipping personnel (scheduling, workflow, accuracy standards, productivity, and training).
• Create clear SOPs and QA checks to reduce errors, damage, and customer service issues.
• Coordinate with carriers and shipping tools/processes to improve cost, speed, and reliability.
Events & Retail Coordination
• Support tastings and events by coordinating digital promotion: landing pages/RSVP workflows, email reminders, and post-event follow-ups.
• Work with store leadership and vendors to align featured products, availability, and promotional timing.
Qualifications
• 3+ years in e-commerce operations (multi-site experience is a plus).
• Proven track record of growing an e-commerce business (revenue, conversion, retention, email-driven sales, or operational scale).
• Strong experience with email marketing execution (you’ve built, sent, and measured campaigns end-to-end).
• Comfortable in an e-commerce CMS (City Hive a plus; Shopify/Magento/etc. also relevant).
• Operational excellence: detail-oriented, strong QA habits, process thinker, reliable follow-through.
• Experience managing fulfillment workflows and/or leading a small operations/shipping team is strongly preferred.
Wine & Spirits Experience: Helpful but not required. We will provide on-premise wine and spirits education to help you learn our product offering and customer base.
Work Setup & Benefits
• Hybrid role (on-site + remote), schedule to be negotiated based on operational needs and candidate fit.
• Healthcare stipend provided to help cover coverage.
• PTO, employee discount, tastings/education, etc.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
• Multi-site workflow is organized: promotions, catalog updates, and email cadence run smoothly.
• Fulfillment operations are consistent: fewer errors, faster turnaround, clear SOPs, shipping team aligned.
• Clear KPI reporting and a prioritized growth roadmap (conversion, retention, list growth, automation).
• Early wins in merchandising and email performance.
