The Winery Maintenance Staff position is responsible for assisting with the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the winery’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This entry-level role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth operations across production and cellar areas by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on winery equipment, including pumps, conveyors, motors, and HVAC systems.
• Assist in the upkeep of winery grounds, buildings, and infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Support maintenance of production and bottling line machinery under supervision.
• Monitor and replace filters, belts, and other consumable parts as needed.
General Upkeep & Safety Compliance:
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workspaces, storage areas, and tools.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and log completed work.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, winery safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Assist in responding to maintenance emergencies and equipment malfunctions.
Winery Support:
• Assist in maintaining irrigation systems and vineyard equipment as needed.
• Provide general maintenance support for winery facilities.
• Help with seasonal projects, including harvest preparation and shutdown procedures.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with production and cellar teams to address maintenance needs.
• Communicate any major repairs or safety concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Prior experience in maintenance, repair, or facilities work is preferred
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to safely operate tools, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperatures.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime during harvest.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a winery, food production, or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of welding, refrigeration, or automation systems.
• Forklift certification
