The Shipping Manager we are looking for will be a team player with natural leadership skills, a perfectionist’s eye for detail and a passion for delivering great customer service. Quick and accurate computer and packing skills are a must. Enthusiasm for physical labor is also required, as this position consists of approximately 2/3 office work and 1/3 warehouse work each week.

In addition to a competitive hourly wage, the compensation package includes fully paid medical, dental and vision benefits for the employee (optional dependent coverage at the employee's expense), 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and an ample schedule of paid company holidays.

The hours of this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime likely during bottling and the busier shipping seasons.

Summary of Requirements:

Educational and Professional
•  3+ years of relevant shipping, warehouse and logistics experience
•  Experience with wine-specific compliance requirements strongly preferred
•  Verifiable customer service experience via email, phone and in person
•  High level of proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
•  Ability to establish shareable calendars and spreadsheets to track shipping and bottling responsibilities
•  eCellar, ShipCompliant, Wineshipping ACP and FedEx Ship Manager experience preferred
•  Bachelor’s degree preferred

General Requirements
•  Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
•  Current or prior forklift certification
•  Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
•  Demonstrably strong work ethic
•  Ability to maintain a calm, friendly and professional demeanor in challenging situations
•  Ability, willingness and interest in solving problems and delivering solutions in a positive manner
•  Willingness to comply with PMV’s safety policies and training requirements
•  Physical abilities and aptitudes relevant to office and warehouse work (details to be provided prior to interview)

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping
•  Ensure all aspects of the fulfillment and delivery process uphold the winery’s highest standards
•  Release DTC orders for shipment from Wineshipping as weather allows
•  Pack and ship DTC, event and wholesale orders that require special handling from the winery
•  Pack Will Call orders being picked up by off-site storage facilities and schedule transportation
•  Address returned shipments promptly
•  Promptly respond to customer shipping inquiries via email and phone in a friendly and professional manner
•  Reach out to customers proactively regarding shipping delays, non-compliant orders, etc.
•  Assist hospitality staff with shipping issues, questions and special requests
•  Consistently look for ways to expand the level of service we offer during the fulfillment process

Warehouse Operations
•  Maintain a neat, clean and organized winery warehouse environment
•  Maintain sufficient inventory of current and library wines to support the tasting room, winery direct shipping, samples and owner's use
•  Schedule transfers of wine between warehouses as necessary
•  Source, order and maintain sufficient inventory of winery warehouse shipping supplies
•  Source, order and maintain sufficient inventory of boxes and bags for the tasting room
•  Inventory wine at all warehouses as scheduled by the CFO and investigate discrepancies as directed

Bottling
•  Schedule mobile bottling contractors for five annual bottlings
•  Order bottling tent and pallet wrapper for each bottling
•  Communicate with off-site warehouses before each bottling and schedule transport for bottled wine
•  Coordinate with the Production Enologist on scheduling, ordering, receiving and inventorying of package components (glass, labels, corks, etc.)
•  Accurately inventory wine after bottling and report to Winemaker, Production Enologist and CFO
•  Manage etching and transportation of large-format bottles

Operational Support
•  Assist Director of Marketing and Club Manager with 5 annual club shipments by reviewing special instructions and compliance issues and updating orders as indicated
•  Assist Director of Marketing with 5 annual wine release events by reviewing unpaid orders and addressing failed compliance issues and special instructions before paying orders
•  Analyze current shipping rates annually and report to CFO and Director of Business
