Chateau Grand Traverse Winery is seeking a motivated, grounded, and growth oriented professional to join our team as Vineyard Operations Manager, Development Track.

We are looking for someone who wants to put down roots, take ownership of their work, and become a key contributor within a respected 50+ year old estate winery. This is a long-term opportunity for an individual who values stewardship, teamwork, and disciplined agriculture.

This is not a seasonal farm job. It is a development track leadership position designed to grow into full Vineyard Management responsibility.

Your Role on Our Team
•  Lead execution of estate vineyard programs throughout the growing and dormant seasons.
•  Oversee contracted vineyard labor to ensure quality, efficiency, and accountability.
•  Work directly with ownership and winemaking to align vineyard practices with fruit quality goals.
•  Monitor vine health and contribute to continuous vineyard improvement.
•  Support annual vineyard planning and operational coordination.
•  Operate and maintain vineyard tractors, sprayers, loaders, and equipment.
•  Manage winter snow removal and property access to ensure safe year-round operations.
•  Maintain accurate records, spray documentation, and compliance standards.

Work Schedule
•  40 to 50 hours per week during peak growing and harvest periods.
•  35 to 40 hours per week during winter and off season.
•  This is a year-round position offering stability and meaningful responsibility.

Development Path
This role is structured to develop into full Vineyard Management authority within a defined 2-to-3-year timeframe. As leadership, judgment, and operational capability are demonstrated, responsibility and compensation will expand accordingly.

We are seeking someone who wants to grow with the vineyard and become a trusted, long-term leader within our organization.

•  Target first year earnings : $55,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience
•  Health Insurance (Optional)

•  401k 3% Employer Salary Contribution
•  Eligible after one year of full-time employment
•  Enrollment dates are January 1st and July 1st of each year
•  Vacation: 2-Weeks (10 paid days)
•  Holiday Pay: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day
•  Sick Days: 3 Per Year – 24 hrs.
•  Discretionary bonus potential determined annually
