Job Description
Boutique mountainside winery is seeking an outgoing and charismatic host for its Calistoga property. Tastings are intimate, one-on-one events, that focus on the unique wines of the estate and the history of both the mountain vineyards, the estate, and the region. Nestled in a unique corner of one of the Napa Valley’s most prestigious mountain AVA’s, the property marries panoramic views with a bucolic, secluded setting into a tasting experience that channels the Napa Valley of old.
The Estate Host will oversee every aspect of our guests’ experience from offering booking and directional assistance, to in-person on-site hospitality, and fulfilling any ordering or shipping requests. They will work alongside our Estate Team to ensure the highest degree of service and hospitality to our guests. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for wine, an affinity for managing guest relationships over the long term, and a strength in sales. This is a unique chance to be part of a small team looking to grow a historic property into newfound potential.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Welcome guests at the estate and lead an independent and unique tasting experience while executing the highest levels of hospitality.
• Encourage the sale of estate wine and drive interest in new memberships.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the estate’s history and winemaking.
• When weather permits, conduct vineyard visits and showcase the property.
• Execute all hospitality tasks, assisting in booking and navigating, setting up and breaking down tasting, processing orders and shipping wine.
• Reception of calls from call forwarding service.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Experience working within a luxury wine hospitality environment
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Engaging personality, genuine kindness, cooperative
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude
• Knowledge of and ability to execute high-quality wine experience
• Ability to multi-task and problem-solving without oversight
• Flexibility and adaptability to a small team that necessitates everyone wearing many hats
• Willing to work weekends
• Wine Qualifications appreciated, but not required
• Proficient with standard computer operations, POS systems, and CRM systems
• Activities required: standing, walking, regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Must be at least 21+
• A passion for the hospitality industry and love of creating exceptional experiences
