POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant 2 position provides overall daily administrative tasks to support the Accounting Department including a variety of routine daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•  Sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
•  Functions as a second signer on checks that require two signatures after reviewing backup.
•  Functions as a backup for the weekly check run approval process.
•  Approves ACH payments through bank portal.
•  Assists in general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
•  Assist with yearend 401(k) testing on Principal portal.
•  Work with Compliance Consulting for out of state compliance.
•  Invoice all shipped orders.
•  Complete job queue to transfer invoices into ShipCompliant and communicate with outside consultant
•  Process distributor purchase orders in accounting system and the outside warehouse system, as well as coordinating with outside warehouse, when needed
•  Compile general ledger information and send reports to managers.
•  Create database for allocations.
•  Assists in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
•  Maintains the general ledger.
•  Completes bank reconciliations.
•  Maintains and reconciles Accounts Receivable
•  Prepares bank deposits.
•  Completes month reoccurring journal entries including insurance, property taxes, loan fees, depreciation, benefits, DA’s, reclassifications, commissions, capitalization of production costs and excise tax.
•  Reconciles payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
•  Prepares monthly reporting of hospitality P&L
•  Assists in month end reporting including borrowing base, management report, cash flow, inventory, and month end analysis.
•  Takes point on software integrations including DTC software and inventory or warehousing integrations.
•  Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
•  Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
•  Respond to voicemails and emails promptly.
•  Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
•  Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
•  Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

•  Proficient use of data software applications to record store, and report payroll, accounting, and inventory data.
•  Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll processing, and clerical procedures.
•  Methods of auditing for accurate recording of timecards and payroll processing.

•  Ability to work overtime. Must be pre-approved based on the needs of the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•  Experience: Minimum of five years related experience or equivalent
•  Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; additional course work in accounting, payroll, finance, or other related coursework to assist in the duties reflected above.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position works in a controlled office environment on the third floor with no access to an elevator. The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to always work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Frequent operation of computer, phone and other office equipment, the ability to work at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The office is located on the third floor and requires the employee to climb 2 flights of stairs regularly throughout the day.
