The Ojai Vineyard is seeking two experienced Cellar Hands to join our team from August through November for the 2026 harvest. We are located in sunny Oak View, California, less than an hour drive from Santa Barbara.
The Ojai Vineyard is a small, quality-driven winery founded in 1983. We produce vineyard-designated wines that emphasize balance, site expression, and thoughtful, small-lot winemaking. Our focus includes Rhône and Burgundy varieties, along with Vermentino, Picoul, Barbera, Mencía, and more!

Position Summary
The Cellar Hand will work closely with the winemaking team in all aspects of harvest and cellar operations. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position requiring attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and quality.
Primary Responsibilities
• Fruit receiving, sorting, crushing, and pressing
• Fermentation management (pumpovers, punchdowns, additions, monitoring)
• Tank and barrel cleaning and sanitation
• Racking, transfers, and barrel work
• Equipment operation and general winery upkeep
• Adherence to all safety protocols
Qualifications
• Prior winery harvest experience required
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
• Forklift experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
• $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience, plus overtime
