Overview: Cliff Lede Vineyards, an ultra-premium family-owned and operated winery based in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, is seeking a highly driven National Sales Manager to lead and execute our national sales efforts across all channels. We are looking for a confident, charismatic, relationship-building rockstar who embodies the Cliff Lede spirit — energetic and driven with a passion for Cabernet Sauvignon and authentic storytelling.
Position Summary: This is a highly market-facing role requiring up to 75% travel. The National Sales Manager will spend the majority of their time in-market working alongside distributor partners and key accounts to drive new placements, strengthen existing accounts, and expand brand visibility. Equally important, this individual must be self-managed and administratively strong — capable of handling forecasting, pricing execution, incentive programming, reporting, and CRM documentation with precision and accountability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Responsible for planning and executing sales efforts throughout the United States as directed by VP of Wholesale Sales.
-Travel to conduct in-person sales activities with on and off premise accounts, media, members, and consumers. The position requires approximately 75% of time in the market.
-Identify and establish new opportunities in distribution utilizing data and market insights.
-Manage appropriate inventory levels to achieve program goals.
-Expand wholesalers’ capabilities by communicating Cliff Lede Vineyard’s brand strategies and objectives.
-Develop and maintain relationships and improve brand sentiment with trade.
-Coordinate with wholesalers, wine club, and marketing team to arrange in-market activities for winery principals and colleagues.
-This position reports to VP of Wholesale Sales.
Education, Experience & Skills:
-5+ years supplier and/or wholesale experience required.
-Wine education credentials (WSET, CSW, etc.) are required.
-Demonstrated success growing luxury wine brands in competitive markets.
-Proven ability to open new accounts and expand distribution.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.
-Polished and professional presence aligned with luxury brand representation.
-Self-directed, organized, and capable of managing extensive travel alongside administrative responsibilities.
-Strong financial acumen with ability to interpret pricing, margins and profitability.
-Applicant must have the ability to calculate and interpret pricing and financial data.
-Experience with social media platforms and ability to capture content for marketing purposes.
Requirements:
-Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 fifty pounds.
-A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
-Current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
-Overnight travel, weeknights, and weekends as required.
-Employee must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $90k - $120K, plus a quarterly bonus incentive when goals are achieved. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, STD insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holidays, auto allowance, and phone allowance.
