2026 Harvest Winemaking Internship

Bergström Wines

On-Site + Housing Included > Newberg, OR

Job Description:

Bergström Wines is currently hiring cellar assistants for the 2026 Harvest in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Founded by Josh and Caroline Bergström in 1999, Bergström continues a dedication to making world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from estate vineyards using organic and biodynamic practices. During harvest we will bring in fruit from 70 acres of planted vines across multiple different AVAs in the Willamette valley.

We are inviting three motivated interns to join our production team in creating the 2026 wines. You can expect to partake in all aspects of the winemaking process including but not limited to vineyard sampling, sorting, forklifting, whole cluster fermentation, barrel fermented chardonnay, press operation, and mastering the custodial arts. Winemaking at Bergstrom is built on years of understanding sites and cellar experience but remains a collaborative process and when time allows, we prioritize thoughtful discussion about winemaking choices and the tasting of ferments and finished wines. Our estate winery is perched on a hill in the Chehalem Mountain AVA surrounded by 14 acres of vines.

Projected start time for the internship is August 17th, 2026. We offer $19/hr and pay overtime on any hours worked over 40 hours per week. We typically offer at least one day off a week during harvest, aside from compressed vintages where certain days requires all hands-on deck. We provide tasty lunches each day once harvest is in full swing and will offer dinner on any late nights. We can guarantee 6-8 weeks of full-time work but each harvest is different and could be longer or shorter. Housing is available on property for many but not all cellar assistants.

We are looking to hire two cellar focused individuals and one harvest enologist who will work closely with winemakers on analysis and data input. Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should team-players, able to lift 50lbs, work on their feet for up to 12 hours per day and maintain compassion, patience, and attention to detail during long days. Local candidates preferred.
