Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly creative Director of Marketing to lead the brand vision for our winery projects. You will serve as the chief storyteller, ensuring that the unique identity, terroir, and philosophy of each brand are communicated authentically to our customers, trade partners, and the press.

The ideal candidate has a deep passion for fine wine, a proven track record in scaling Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels, and the leadership skills to foster esprit de corps across our marketing, sales, and customer service teams.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Brand Strategy: Develop, oversee, and execute comprehensive marketing and brand strategies for a diverse portfolio of highly allocated, critically acclaimed wine brands. Keep our teams on track, ensuring deadlines are met and materials are produced and shared in a timely manner.

DTC & E-Commerce Growth: Drive robust direct-to-consumer strategies. Oversee mailing list allocations, release campaigns, club memberships, and digital marketing efforts to maximize customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.

Authentic Storytelling: Direct the creation of compelling visual, digital and written content. Translate complex winemaking and viticultural practices into engaging narratives for consumer and trade audiences. Internal marketing is just as important as external marketing. It will be your responsibility to educate and excite our own team ahead of campaigns and events so they can execute to the fullest.

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a talented in-house marketing team, including brand managers, graphic designers, and digital content creators.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the CEO, Creative, Winemakers, and Sales Directors to ensure complete brand alignment across all touchpoints, from the tasting room to national distribution.

PR & Event Management: Oversee public relations strategy, cultivate relationships with key wine media/critics, and direct high-touch hospitality, trade, and release events. Participate with the team at events. Travel domestically to represent the wines and the team.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a significant background in the premium/luxury wine sector.

Industry Knowledge: A deep, nuanced understanding of the fine wine market, terroir-driven winemaking, and both DTC and three-tier sales channels. (Formal wine education, such as WSET Diploma or Advanced Sommelier certification, is highly preferred).

Strategic & Analytical: Proven ability to manage successful allocation models, analyze e-commerce data, and build data-driven marketing campaigns without losing the brand's soul.

Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of building trust and cooperation among diverse stakeholders.

Flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly between our primary vineyard and winery sites in California (Santa Barbara County).

What We Offer
