POSITION SUMMARY
The Bottling Sanitation Tech 1 position is the entry level position in the Sanitation Department. The Sanitation Tech I is responsible for the cleaning and prepping of the bottling lines pre-production, excluding the Monoblock Fillers, as well as relieving production employees on the bottling lines during breaks and lunches. Shift is Graveyard, 11pm - 7:30am, Sunday through Thursday.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Responsible for daily housekeeping duties during scheduled Sanitation time. Ensures all loose debris and wine spills are removed from the production floor to prevent injury or possible contamination of product. Assists Sanitation Tech II in completing start up functions. Responsible for operating Bottling equipment during production hours to relieve employees for breaks and lunches.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Complies with Winery's GMP, Safety, SSOP, and Quality guidelines.
•  Complete all Sanitation documents associated with the Tech I Sanitation position.
•  Safely uses all chemicals and chemical distribution equipment used in the Sanitation Department.
•  Uses various methods and equipment to clean Case Packers, Box Sealers, Un-Casers, Labelers, Palletizers, Conveyors and Capsule Applicators.
•  Can read Product Spec sheets to identify material to be run on production lines.
•  Able to complete all Tech I assignments on production lines on time and accurately. Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and have time management skills in order to successfully complete Tech I assignments during the Sanitation cycle.
•  Qualifies on Forklift and Clamplift.
•  Assists Tech II to ensure production lines start up on time.
•  Proficient in the following bottling roles to assist production with breaks and lunches
•  All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•  6 months of experience in a food processing or food packaging facility.
•  Must have a High School Diploma or GED
•  Must be able to read and write in English to adequately complete Sanitation documents used in our auditing process.
•  Ability to work flexible shifts including with the main shift assignment being graveyard.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•  1 year of experience in a Bottling facility.
•  6 months Sanitation experience in a food processing or food packaging facility.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
•  Must be able to read and write in English.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS
•  A valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

WORKING CONDITIONS
•  Must be able to work Graveyard shift.
•  Works with chemicals that if not handled properly can pose health hazards to the Bottling Sanitation Tech 1 and the people working in the vicinity.
•  Must be able to work independently with a sense of urgency.
•  Works on the Bottling Lines during production hours and must always wear appropriate PPE.

Hourly base salary, $20/hour. This hourly salary range reflects the expected hiring range for this position. Please note that this salary is solely for candidates hired to perform work within California and refers to the amount DFG Beverage is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
