Foley Family Farms (FFF) is a rapidly growing West Coast company with farming in California and Oregon.

The Seasonal Viticulture Intern will assist our viticulture department, grower relations and winery staff with operational vineyard related activities. Primary responsibilities for this role include crop estimation, maturity sampling, soil analysis, water status monitoring, plant tissue sampling, pest and disease scouting, and data analysis. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently at times. This position functions in the direct support of the Foley Family Farms viticulture and farming teams and reports to the Senior Viticulturist of Foley Family Farms.

The anticipated timeframe of this internship is May – October 2026.

Initially, this position will start the day at our Viticulture office in Geyserville, CA. ** Company vehicle and gas will be provided **

** The $500 sign-on bonus will paid at the completion of the internship. **

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor vineyards for vine & grape maturity
Vineyard scouting for pests, diseases, virus, and vine health
Communicate and report any issues to vineyard team
Collect cluster counts and cluster weights to help assist with crop estimation
Maintain and update vineyard evaluation binder with maps, vineyard contacts & pictures
Sample grapes for maturity & ripeness from a large variety of vineyards primarily in Napa and Sonoma County
Analysis of grapes for maturity controls
Data entry and reporting of field work
Responsible for the accuracy of data collected
Assist team members with various projects, as needed
Assist with harvest activities such as fruit quality checks and weighmaster scale operations

Required Knowledge, Skills & Other Abilities

Ability to read maps with a basic geographical knowledge
Ability to do advanced math and have good verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and procedures
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as basic database management

Education & Experience

Current or past education in viticulture, agriculture, or related plant science field from an accredited university preferred but work experience will be considered
A valid Driver's License and acceptable DMV record required, in order to be considered insurable

Physical Requirements

Able to: travel by car, truck, ATV and RTV, visit multiple vineyard locations and inside the winery, and walk the vineyards (hillside and flat); able to work in various weather conditions; ability to sit at and operate a computer for at least two-hour intervals, physically able to lift and carry 41 lbs. and work a flexible schedule (including early daytime, evenings and weekends during harvest).

Work Environment
This position will be based out of the Foley Family Farms Vit Lab in Geyserville California. They will be required to travel throughout California vineyard locations, focusing on the North Coast (Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino Counties).
