Summary
The Cellar Associate assists in the production of premium quality wines produced at Quintessa. This is a hands-on position, under the direction of the Cellar Master, that is involved in all aspects of the winemaking process.
Essential Duties:
*The following reflects essential functions for this role but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
You will be directly involved with all stages of the winemaking process and carry out all winery operations in coordination with the Winemaker's direction. This will include, but not be limited to, sampling barrels, racking/blending wines, topping, forklift operation and barrels work in cave and warehouse, cleaning and sanitation of tanks and all cellar equipment, managing crush pad related duties and a small crew of interns at harvest.
Qualifications
• A positive attitude, open and curious - asks thoughtful questions
• Established forklift skills (valid Driver's License)
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Possess a high attention to detail
• An interest in winemaking and lab analysis along with moderate computer skills in excel and Vintrace is desirable, but not required
• 1+ year cellar experience
Physical requirements
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, such as early mornings, and weekends, to accommodate the needs of harvest operations
• Ability to climb stairs and lift cases of wine, up to ~50 lbs
• Requires the ability to sit bend, stoop, twist and walk over uneven surfaces for prolonged periods of time
• Able to stand for long periods of time

The hourly rate range for this position is $22 to $25. Competitive benefits package offered.
