Reports to: Experience Lead

This Is Not a “Just Show Up and Pour Wine” position.

Abbott Claim is looking for a Hospitality Lead — someone who loves people, takes pride in their craft, and shows up with calm confidence, good judgment, and a genuine desire to make others feel welcome.

About the Role:

The Hospitality Lead is both a front-line host and a service steward. You’ll deliver elevated, guest-centered experiences while helping maintain the operational rhythm, service standards, and team culture of our tasting room and hospitality program.

You’ll work closely with the Experience Lead, support the hospitality team during service, and help ensure that every guest experience reflects Abbott Claim’s values of Comfortable Excellence, Raw Luxury, and Unreasonable Hospitality.

What You’ll Do (Day to Day)
Guest Experience & Service

-Host tastings and tours with warmth, confidence, and storytelling finesse
-Create meaningful emotional connections with guests — not canned scripts
-Educate guests on our wines, vineyards, philosophy, and membership offerings
-Convert wine and membership sales through consultative, pressure-free hospitality
-Uphold fine-dining-level service standards with ease and professionalism

Leadership & Team Presence

-Lead by example — steady, composed, and accountable
-Serve as a point person for the hospitality team during assigned shifts
-Support teammates in real time, helping service flow smoothly
-Step into shift-lead responsibilities as assigned

Operations & Readiness

-Execute opening and closing procedures with precision
-Maintain impeccable standards across all guest-facing spaces
-Support daily setup, breakdown, stocking, and organization
-Handle wine and service materials with care and accuracy

Program & Experience Oversight

-Support and oversee elements of the Oculus program (our international wine list for members only) as assigned
-Ensure elevated member experiences align with brand standards
-Assist with premium tastings, private experiences, and special programming

Events & Special Experiences

-Support on-site and off-site events
-help with planning and organization
-Assist with member gatherings, private tastings, and special activations

What Success Looks Like

-Sales happen naturally as a result of trust and connection
-Teammates feel supported, clear, and proud of their work
-Experiences are consistent, memorable, and aligned with the brand

What We’re Looking For:

-Five or more years of experience in hospitality and/or the wine industry
-Fine-dining-level service instincts and polish
-Strong emotional intelligence and situational awareness
-Natural leadership presence without ego
-Advanced wine knowledge (certifications strongly preferred)
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Comfort working weekends, select evenings, and events
-Commerce7 experience preferred
-OLCC Server Permit and Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain)
-Ability to lift fifty pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods

Work Environment

-This role operates in an active winery environment that includes indoor and outdoor spaces, a climate-controlled cave (55°F, high humidity, low light), and uneven terrain. You’ll host groups from two to twenty-four guests, walk ten thousand or more steps per day, and regularly lift and transport cases of wine.
-Physical stamina, situational awareness, and a calm presence are essential.

Schedule

-Full-time, guaranteed average of thirty hours per week
-Five days on, two days off (flexibility required)
-Weekends, select evenings, and off-site events required
