Job Description:

Mari Vineyards is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the operations of our boutique winery and newly constructed bed & breakfast accommodations. The successful candidate will know all aspects of the winery and have a working knowledge of bed & breakfast/ lodging operations.

The cornerstones of our business are:
Making estate wines on par with the best in the world, with a focus on red wines
Boutique rental accommodations coming on line
Supreme destination with highly sought after location on Old Mission Peninsula

This individual will report to the Board of Directors/Ownership and collaborate closely with our Winemaker and Controller. Direct reports will be Tasting Room Operations Manager, Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Kitchen Manager, and Events Coordinator.

Qualifications:
Degree in Business Administration, Management, or similar field
5+ years of experience in business management, specifically winery and hospitality
Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
Organization and analytical skills
Adaptable to unexpected changes and conditions with the ability to multitask on concurrent projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work with different personality types to obtain desired operational results

Primary Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
Overall responsibility for operations, including profitability, of winery and associated bed & breakfast
Supervise the setup of operations, procedures, and hiring for new bed & breakfast
Collaborate with Winemaker as to wine production, scheduling, and inventory levels
Oversee Tasting Room operations, ensuring high-quality customer service and event execution
Spearhead and preside at quarterly operations meetings with Ownership/Board of Directors, covering financial results, operations, and forward plans
Compliance with TTB and State regulations and reporting, including applying for COLA's as necessary
Oversee and manage facility infrastructure, including safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with Controller in establishing annual budgets and forecasts, using input from department managers
Set and monitor goals for and with each department
Handle disciplinary issues not able to be handled by department managers
Daily presence at facility to monitor operations
Understand Ownership's goals and work toward executing them
Cultivate a positive team environment, drive employee engagement, and focus on team well-being
Communicate critical situations to Ownership as needed
Collaborate with Winemaker and Farm staff in planning the future direction of vineyards and wines, to maximize profitability and production of world class wines
Participate in annual property and liability insurance renewals
Contribute to ongoing information technology plan and platform
Collaborate on employee benefits and handbook
