Feliz Creek Cellars: General Manager of Wine Operations & Winemaker

Overall Opportunity: This role is a unique position for an experienced winemaker and leader of wine operations. This is a great opportunity to be a key leader in the establishment and growth of this new wine company.

Feliz Creek Cellars (Job Description)
The primary role of General Manager at Feliz Creek Cellars is to hire, train and manage the team of 6-10 cellar personal, and seasonal harvest crew to provide leadership in the operation of this wine service business. Work directly with the owners on the sales, operations and profitability of the company.

The focus on managing the multiple services (custom crush, bulk/barrel wine and case good storage and bottling) for California wineries.
•  Provide strategic thinking and planning, and sales in the growth of this wine services company.
•  Manage the required FFE and capacity of 2,800,000-3,200,000 gallons of stainless fermentation and storage tanks.
•  Establish, maintain and strengthen relationships with growers and Northern California growers, wineries, brokers, virtual bands for their crush, bulk wine and storage needs.
•  Budget and maintain new winery equipment, lab equipment, barrels and cellar/lab chemicals.
•  Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all cellar work.
•  Hire, train, evaluate, manage, and lead cellar and facility crew and any lab work-technicians (lab activities to be very basic).
•  Keep and maintain records to ensure all cellar and wine activities and wine labels meet TTB regulations – currently using Innovent and open to improving all systems for record keeping
•  Work closely with compliance consultant with regards to excise tax returns and Wine Premises Operations Reports on a quarterly basis concepts and process. Currently working with DH Wine Compliance and open to review best industry partnerships.
•  Work with ownership to plan and execute growth of the winery service business.
•  Work with owners to decide on bulk wine production from company owned vineyards. Currently the owners farm approximately 250 acres of estate fruit in the Hopland area.
•  Work with ownership to develop company wine brands. Overtime, determine if travel will be required for sales and presentation of these developing brands.
